Chicago

Every summer, my family visits the city of Chicago. It is really fun and cool. All of my extended family lives there. Some places that you can visit there are the Willis (Sears) Tower, Millenium Park, and Navy Pier. The Willis Tower used to be one of the tallest buildings in the world. You can climb it very high and experience the beautiful view of Chicago. Millenium Park is huge. There are many parts of it including a big performance stage, gardens, fountains, the Bean statue, and a cool bridge connecting Millenium Park to Maggie Daley Park. Maggie Daley Park is a fun playground with many big slides, swings, rock climbing, a small water park, and other fun things for kids to do. Finally, Navy Pier is a 3,300-feet-long pier outstretching into Lake Michigan with amusement rides, museums, restaurants, and other fun attractions. You should definitely go visit this great city of Chicago!

The Trumpeter of Krakow

Recently, I read a book called The Trumpeter of Krakow. It is a great book, and I really enjoyed it. At first it was a little slow, but then it got very exciting. The Trumpeter of Krakow was written by Eric P. Kelly in 1928. In the book, a boy named Joseph and his family travel from Ukraine to Krakow in Poland because their house was burned down by people. His family has a secret which Joseph doesn’t even know about! Many people envy his family for their treasure. Then, a group of men attack Joseph’s house in Krakow, and the hidden treasure goes missing! I would rate this book five out of five stars. I would definitely recommend this book! Mystery and history mix in this classic novel called The Trumpeter of Krakow.

100 Word Challenge- Week 23

Kelly and Sam were walking home from school when they had to walk around the pavement because it was being redone. Kelly stopped Sam, “Look at those coins in the cement.” The two of them picked up the coins and brought them to their bedroom. Kelly and Sam climbed up the ladder to Sam’s bunk. Then, they sat and stared at the coins. All of a sudden, the room started spinning and becoming red! Sam and Kelly finally opened their eyes to see a pool with many slides and floats. They looked down and were wearing swimsuits, too. The two jumped on a float, but then felt it sinking into a whirlpool! They were screaming until… “Wake up kids. Time for school.” Sam and Kelly looked at each other at the same time and said, “I had the weirdest dream!”
